The most common problem I find in the club golfer is, they try to play chip shots with to much loft. The most accurate shot in the short game is the chip and run. The ball is on the ground quickly and releases and runs the whole way to the hole. It is important to play this shot with a less lofted club such as an 8 or 9 iron, rather than a pitching wedge or sand wedge.
To play this shot below is a couple of quick pointers to help you out:
1. The ball is to be positioned to the back of your stance with your hands in front of the ball.
2. The length of the swing is simply pocket to pocket. (Pocket on the backswing following through to the pocket on the through swing)
3. There is no wrist movement and is played by simply rocking your shoulders like a putting stroke.
