Why Become A Member

There are many reasons why you should choose to become a Member of Torquay Golf Club.

  • We have a welcoming and relaxed culture forged over 100 years since the Club first opened in October 1920.
  • We have great facilities, not simply a challenging course but great golf shop, Members lounge, swimming pool and gymnasium facilities (both for additional cost), five-star restaurant and accommodation for guests.
  • Members can choose which tee they wish to play from be that long hitters off the Black Tees, short hitters off the Green Tees or those in between playing off either the Yellow or White tees.
  • Our Membership options are varied and designed to suit the playing circumstances of most. Importantly all membership types be they 5, 6 or 7-day playing rights include Sundays which is something unique to our club.
  • Membership packages are competitively priced. They also offer discounts if you are an RACV Member and are based on years of membership ranging from 5% for a Bronze member to 20% for a Gold 50 member.
  • The Committee of the Torquay Golf Club set the annual fixture which includes the periods of each day that are designated for members only to book. This greatly reduces the number of times that members must play in fields with green fee players.
  • We have an active social calendar with regular cash prizes for members in attendance.
  • We are a non-discriminatory club that treats all members as equals and have been officially recognized by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club and Golf Australia as a proud signatory to their Women in Golf Charter.
  • Our women members have their own dedicated competition played on Tuesday mornings which is treated as a special measure under the Sex Discrimination Act and is designed to encourage more women to play.
